Re: [IP] UNC!

Fron what I read (somewhere - wish I could remember where) people on medicare
would not have to abide by the "deal" between UHC and Medtronic. I agree, it is
totally unacceptable to limit people to one brand of pump. People are different
with different needs. Maybe if a person didn't have to pay exorbitant
premiums...

I used to have United and I'm glad that I don't anymore. I have Cigna now and
they aren't too bad about it. I went on Omnipod in Sept 2016 after being off of
a pump for nearly two years due to a malfunction with a Tslim. But the first
pump I ever had was a Medtronic and I hated it. That was in 2005. I have heard
people complain about the accuracy of their CGM and how painful it is. I have
also talked to people who were on their closed looped systems trial and that
they hated it. And out of the entire trial the lowest A1C was 6.4. Which is
good
but I have a 5.6 so I wouldn't switch. I would go back on injections.

That being said. My father in law's Medicare is through United. They put him on
Tslim a couple of years ago. Are they going to try forcing them to switch to
the
new Medtronic? I haven't had a chance to ask him.
