I have been wearing glasses since I've been 18mths old,B have black nB
white photos of me in the playpen.B Had to wear a patch over my rightB eye
during the summer for 7yrs to make my left (lazy) eye stronger.B B My retinal
specialist in 2013 did cataract surgery left eye for close right eyeB for
distance. I have not worn glassed since the surgeries. I have 20/20 vision and
only wear non-prescription sun glasses.B B IB B have never looked back (pardon
the pun).B

I wantedB to ask the group to share some of your commentsB regarding
cataractB surgery experiences. My Opthamologist has given me the choiceB of
visual
correction for eitherB distance, or close up.B TheB multi lens is out of
the
question for someoneB with diatetes andB glaucoma.B How did you all pick
which visual correctionB toB make?B Honestly, my vision is still bad with
my
prescription glasses,B asB they do not correct for distance sufficiently.B
Even
withB the strongestB readers, I still can not see very well for close upB
reading.B TheB Opthamologist urges me to wait until I can noB longer
function
before IB schedule having surgery.B And I amB rapidly approaching that
point.B
MyB A1cs have been around 6.8B for about a year, and to me, it seems that
having a surgical procedureB would be better if my diabetes is in somewhat
good
control.B I wouldB really appreciate any thoughts you all would be willingB
toB share.B ThankB you!
