You have to go into utilities and set it to alarm when you want to test  BG

You mentioned that there  is an alarm when it is time to test. I have a MM 722
but I have never had  this happen.

In the  Medtronic MM512, the alarm sounds (couple or 3 beeps), depending on  
the
message - ie, when it is time to test, low reservoir, low battery, or  an
occlusion.
