[IP] RE: Driver's Licenses...BE CAREFUL!
For what it's worth dept, not saying anything more or less than this--I was
told by a motor vehicle dept. official that it is up to you whether you
disclose the information or not.
Time and time again, I have heard of committees deciding on your worthiness of
having a license, committees losing paperwork or delaying paperwork so people
end up with no license and/or one expired temporary license.
I don't think it is for a medical committee to decide, especially one that
doesn't meet with any regularity, or necessarily with any real knowledge of
anything.
While I am at it, this is what I heard a Mom tell her son the other day while
I was shopping.
Apparently the son saw someone checking their BG or something (it wasn't me, I
don't know who it was). The child said something like "I would like to do
that".
The Mom looked at the son and said, "oh honey, you don't want to be a
diabetic. Those people lead horrible lives and die horrible deaths or they
have limbs cut off their bodies."
OK, look at that type of lack of education and then think about who should be
deciding on whether we are fit to drive or not. Maybe a 'medical committee'
would have more sense, but maybe not.
I had a doctor one time tell me a person on MDI should only check their BG
once a day...
huhhh??????????? Watch someone like that end up on a committee for the
state.
