Hi Tricia, no your pump did not do it, and no he is not hallucinating.
Tell him to contact the dealer. Some Toyota's are having an issue with
loosing their security programming. Happens with keys and remotes. There
may be a recall. There is a shopping mall in the Washington DC area that is
famous for locking people out of their cars. People park, return to their
cars and the remote will not open their cars and some will not start when
opened with the key. No body knows what is causing it.
