Re: [IP] I'm not going to waste energy on hating Diabetes.

Sometimes life hands you "a gift" to look at a situation differently. The
gift - may be looked at as something bad gift to some people but a gift can
be something that was just there and given to you to teach you something.

My gift - not diabetes related, was the birth of my second child, Nicholas
who was born with Down Syndrome. For a woman of 25 years of age it was a 1
and 1,300 chance that a woman in my age bracket would have a child with Down
Syndrome. But what Nick has taught me was compassion for people that are
developmentally disabled and there is no going back to changing my thoughts
about people with differences than others. He is such a neat child-He thinks
he is just like any other kid but he does know when I say "That child has
down syndrome". He says, "Just like me". It showed me he doesn't care that
he has Down Syndrome!

Susan, you are right not to waste any energy on hating diabetes. Things
could be worst. But for me, I try to repeat the heck out of the times things
were at their best and if I have to eat better and exercise to stay ahead of
the game I will because that is where I know I feel at my best. I do fall
"off the wagon" but it doesn't take much energy to get back on either! Take
Care Sharon B.
