RE: [IP] Famous with Diabetes

Max, great question and I hope I don't get my self booted off the list for
my answer ;)

There are MANY foundations and organizations that support diabetes in one
way or another. This [IP] list, is one huge contribution to the diabetes
community as a whole.

At one time, the childrenwithdiabetes.com site had some really neat "cards"
of people with diabetes, some were famous people and some were regular
people, heroes in their own right for the accomplishes they made having
diabetes. John Ratzenberger ( he played CLIFF on CHEERS_) actually had the
cards printed a long while back, I'm just not sure if they are still
available. Here is a pretty darn good site for famous people with D :)

And of course, I volunteer full-time for the Children With Diabetes
Foundation. We are currently working to raise money to fund two grants. One
for porcine islet cell research and another for umbilical cord blood cell
research. I am here if you have any questions. I hope to have more info. up
at our web site soon.

Subject: [IP] Famous with Diabetes

I would like to know about famous people with diabetes, mainly
pump users or type-1. BB King is a type-2, but is Mary Tyler
Moore pump user? Also, is there a foundation for diabetes like
Larry King has for heart problems?
