[IP] IP] unfair treatments at school Really long...sorry venting

I have been reading some of these posts. Many are suggesting that you ask
a doctor to weigh in on the subject. That is good, but.....

HER NEED TO CALL YOU IS NOT THE SCHOOL'S
DECISION.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is yours. Inform them this that is what she will be doing and that they
will assist her in doing it. If you are in the US, then a 504 will let you
get this in legal standing. You can insist on it.

Even if her calls disrupt class, she can still call if she really needs to.
She is protected under ADA is in the US and she must be accommodated. Any
other disabled child is allowed to disrupt class if need be. A deaf kid
with a translator is a disruption. An electric wheelchair makes noise and
is a distraction. A kid with ADD is a distraction. A phone call to help
determine her needs is a distraction.

You have the authority here, NOT the school.

Good Luck,

Curtis Lomax
