[IP] Re: inhaler

>From what I've heard, the inhaler is packaged in a single metered dose, kind
of like sumatriptan (Imitrex). Supposedly, according to the doctor from
University of Missouri (they were apparently part of the trial) who lectured
to us in both Endocrinology and Pharmacology, it actually has better
absorption than the abdomen and has allowed individuals to not have to take
shots of short term insulin. However, they still had to maintain their shots
of long term or ultra long term insulin. This might not be a big problem.
There is a new long acting, stable basal insulin - Glargine - is also due out
either next year or the end of this year. It would seem that a combination
of one shot a day and an nasal inhale at each meal would be the regimen.
