[IP] Looking for needle in a haystack -- you can HELP

Researchers at the Joslin Clinic need volunteers for a kidney disease
study. If you have diabetes and ALSO have a brother or sister with
diabetes, PLEASE READ this message from Kellie Anderson at Joslin.

For the study, we are looking fo siblings, regardless of age. Most
participants are adults, but we do not rule out having children under
18 hepl, as long as they either have kidney disease or 10+ years'
diabetes duration. If participants are under 18, we must get their
parent(s)' permission and consent to have them participate in the
study. Here is a brief synopsis of the study criteria:

Do you have Type 1 diabetes and kidney disease?
Do you also have a brother or sister with Type 1 diabetes who
has no kidney problems? If so, you may be able to help researchers
at the Joslin Diabetes Center discover genetic factors that may make
some people with diabetes more susceptible to kidney disease.
The Joslin Kidney Study is looking for individuals diagnosed with
insulin-dependent diabetes before the age of 31 who have a clinical
diagnosis of kidney disease - including proteinuria, dialysis, and
kidney transplant - and who have at least one other diabetic sibling
with no kidney complications after at least 10 years' duration of
Type 1 diabetes. If this sounds like your family, contact us to see
if you and your sibling(s) qualify. If admitted to the Joslin Kidney
Study, one-time participation involves questions about your family
history and your health, a blood pressure measurement, and a blood
sample collection. People from all over the United States and
Canada can participate. Each qualified participant will be
compensated for his or her time, and the confidentiality of all
information will be protected. For more information, and to see
if you qualify, please contact Project Manager Kellie Anderson:

 Have a great day!
