Re: [IP] Letter to Insurance re: # of test strips

I've been type 1 for 16 years--on the minimed 507C for 2 months now. I live
in NH and work in MA (my health insurance carrier is MA based), and have
never had any problems with getting test strips that I've needed. I test
alot--have some hypoglycemic unawareness, and trying to maintain control
over my BG's. As long as my MD writes the amount needed for a months supply
(whatever that may be 250+), my pharmacy (CVS) fills the order no questions.
I have prescription drug coverage, and all I pay is the co-pay, the ins pays
the rest. Grateful for the insurance.
Good Luck with your pump!
Diana :-)
