Re: [IP] SODA DEBATE/need...want? caffine/corporate america

Lisa, I't's less about fighting corporate america than it is about making
thoughtful choices about what any of us decided to put into our bodies, and
what effect those substances do to us(minds and bodies.) You enjoy/need the
effects of caffine...I question what effects caffine has on insulin use.

No one could have told me a year ago that we'd be cooking/eating the way we
do, or that we SHOULD be following a certain plan. We have "come" here
though the process of living with a child with DM and Celiac Sprue, another
family member with auto-immune thyroid issues and a 14 year old friend with
osteosarcoma (cancer...you're a nurse, but some subscribers arn't.) I can
only say that when we eat a macro-biotic diet (less refined, whole, organic,
vegetarian) diet, our son's BGs are remarkable normal and even and his
insulin requirements are less.... We've changed the way we eat, and it's
been effective.
(However I DID bake seductive lemon poppyseed muffins for breakfast this
morning and everyone enjoyed them...organic butter, flour, eggs, and sugar!)
