My BG's were extremely erratic specifically because of an allergic
reaction to Ultralente. Even in someone who is not having this sort of
reaction, U is extremely unpredictable. It can be difficult to convince
physicians about this despite medical research backing my position.
Many doctors think that they are right. period. And and do not wish to
consider that a patient might know more about an issue because of how
intimate they are with the condition. Your endo does not seem to work
much with insulin pumps. Speak with a pump specialist and ask for their
advice. Giving U in combination with an insulin pump is not standard
operating procedure, and sounds ludicrous to me. If you intend to keep
your son on an insulin pump, you will need to find a doctor who deals
with insulin pumps regularly.
