7. Correcting mistakes - after the fact

Errors in the password and format errors generally cause majordomo to BOUNCE the message back to the administrator. The most common error is a bad or missing password.

7.1 Correcting BOUNCED member mail list request.

A BOUNCED mail list request with a BAD.PASSWORD looks something like the illustration below. Reply to the message as you did to the original member list request, editing the message to look like the good reply. Then re-send the mail list request to majordomo@bzs.org

7.2 Correcting BOUNCED profiles

A BOUNCED profile with a BAD.PROFILE (password) will look something like the illustration below.

Reply to the message as you did to the original member profile, editing the message to look like the good reply. Then re-send the profile to insulin-pumpers-profile@bzs.org.

  1. Delete the extra headers added by the error return.
  2. Correct the password.
  3. Make sure signatures and added trailers are turned OFF on your mailer Signatures and trailers will end up in the members profile.

Send the corrected profile to insulin-pumpers-profile@bzs.org
